Well done Harrison!

Can you believe it - we're a third of the way through our holiday already!  For a brief moment I thought that we really ought to start doing 'proper' touristy things but had to remind myself that this is exactly the purpose of a holiday - to do whatever you enjoy!

Not a bad way to start the day today - homemade pancakes for breakfast- thanks B!

Then it was time for a swim in the pool. We bought a large lilo and a pool chair yesterday and once we'd negotiated the safety valves, they were easier than I expected to inflate. Harrison chose to test drive the lilo and I tried out the chair.

When Bernard joined us in the pool though, I quickly realised that we needed another trip to Walmart to get another pool chair. Bernard was extremely comfortable on the lilo and Harrison decided that he preferred the chair as it was supportive under his arms so gave him more confidence to move his arms and legs around to traverse the pool.

I was left with the little blue inflatable float probably designed for a six year old!  We took turns with the inflatables and enjoyed a very relaxing morning playing in the pool.

Lying across the lilo Harrison managed to 'swim' a few lengths of the pool all by himself.  This is great progress and something that he's determined to improve upon even after we return home.

It was early afternoon by the time Harrison decided that it was time to get out of the pool.  We were getting ready to go out when he brought his iPad to us with a beaming smile on his face.  He'd just received an email from his English teacher to let him know that he'd passed his English writing exam with a very high score! Needless to say, we're all delighted! We took him out to lunch to celebrate. As it was 3:30pm we went to a buffet restaurant to have 'linner' - lunch and dinner together!

The clouds started to build as we started yet another mystery tour of the area and Harrison was keen to get back to the villa so that he could hide away from the storm.  Bernard wanted to make a couple of stops on the way.  Firstly at the local Ford dealership to show me the 'Edge'; a larger version of our Kuga that's supposed to be available in the UK next year.  It was really smart and spacious inside and the top of the range model in the US, costs less than our Kuga did!

After that Bernard wanted to see what was showing at the new Cineopolis opened in the Posner Park retail centre that we went to last year.
By now the clouds looked pretty angry and only gave us a couple of seconds warning by way of a single droplet that they were about to offload.

All of a sudden we were no longer able to see out of the windows despite the wipers going at full speed.  We knew that other drivers had the same problem as a woman pulled out into us at 90 degrees and must have only missed us by a whisker! That was a bit scary!  Suddenly Harrison's idea of hiding away seemed like a good plan.
